Ira Heber Kent (I.H.) settled in Churchill County in 1876. Since that time, members of his family have been active in local business and community affairs. In the spring of 1892, Mr. Kent opened his mercantile business in Stillwater, which was the county seat for Churchill County. In 1906, Mr. Kent was the county treasurer when the seat was moved to Fallon. Not wanting to be far from his business, Mr. Kent put the store on skids drawn by horses and followed the county records to their new location.
The heavy mining and increased agricultural activity in the area helped Mr. Kent build his mercantile business into one of the largest in Nevada. He gave farmers credit for one year and at harvest time the store accepted the farmers’ crops – hay, turkeys, and other products – as payment. This year Kent’s Supply Center, Inc., formerly known as the I.H. Kent Company, celebrates 125 years of business.
Kent’s Supply Center, Inc. continues to be a family owned and operated business. Today Karla Kent operates the business with the same philosophy as her dad Thomas, his dad Ira L., and his dad Ira H: deep roots in the community, commitment to our neighbors and being fair to our customers.
The vision for Kent’s Supply Center is to continue our deep rooted traditions of serving our customers as neighbors with the highest level of service and quality products at a competitive price, as well as adapting to the times by utilizing technology suited for our industry.
The entire Kent’s Team would like to thank all our customers for the support and friendship shown to Kent’s Supply Center over the years. We look forward to serving our current and new customers into the future with the highest level of service and trust.
Kodiak: The Industry-Leading Provider of Commercial Roofing in California and Nevada
With over 35 years of experience in the commercial roofing industry, Kodiak Roofing has established itself as an industry-leading partner for businesses seeking high-quality roofing solutions. Check out our complete range of services today.
Our Commercial Re-Roofing Solutions
Sometimes, despite the best maintenance efforts, a roof reaches the end of its service life. When that happens, Kodiak re-roofing services offer an effective solution to replace your aging roof with a brand-new system designed to last.
Our re-roofing services are tailored to meet the needs of each individual project. Before beginning, our team of professionals conducts a comprehensive inspection to assess the current condition of your roof and determine whether repairs or a complete replacement is necessary. We then work with you to select the best materials and system for your building, balancing performance with budget.
Revive Roofing: Commercial Roofing Maintenance and Repair
One of the most critical aspects of owning a commercial building is maintaining the roof to avoid costly replacements and repairs down the line. That’s where Kodiak’s Revive Service Plan comes in.
We understand even minor leaks or damaged areas can lead to costly issues if left unaddressed. That’s why we offer 24/7 emergency leak repairs and regular maintenance checks to keep your roof in top condition. Additional services include:
Minor Repairs: For small issues like damaged flashing, cracked seals, or worn-out sections, our team can make quick repairs to prevent further damage and extend the life of your roof. We also handle resealing, patching, and addressing weak points that may lead to leaks in the future.
Roof Inspections: Our team conducts thorough inspections to identify any potential issues, from leaks to structural concerns. With a detailed report, we provide recommendations on necessary repairs or maintenance steps to protect your roof’s integrity.
Preventive Maintenance: Regular roof maintenance helps extend the life of your roof by addressing problems early. Our team will clean debris, check for cracks or punctures, and ensure all roofing materials remain secure, sealed, and intact.
New Construction Roofing Services at Kodiak
Kodiak Roofing works closely with architects, contractors, and business owners to provide new surfaces for commercial buildings. We specialize in a variety of commercial roofing systems, including:
TPO Roofing: Thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) roofing offers excellent durability, energy efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. It’s a popular choice for flat or low-slope commercial roofs due to its resistance to UV radiation, chemical exposure, and environmental factors.
Single-Ply Roofing: Single-ply roofing systems provide flexibility and are ideal for buildings with complex architectural designs. These systems are lightweight and offer great protection against leaks, making them a smart choice for many commercial applications.
Metal Roofing: Metal roofs are known for their exceptional lifespan, lasting 30-50 years or more with proper maintenance. They are resistant to extreme weather, fire, and pests, making them one of the most durable roofing options for commercial properties.
Commercial Roofing Inspections
Our inspection services are designed to identify problems early and provide the information you need to make informed decisions about repairs, maintenance, or replacements. Detailed roof inspections cover:
Structural Integrity: We examine the roof’s structure to ensure it’s strong enough to support the current system and any future improvements. This includes checking for signs of sagging, warping, or other structural issues that could compromise the roof’s performance.
Leak Detection: Leaks can cause significant damage to the roof and the interior of the building. Our team checks for signs of water intrusion, so any weak points are addressed immediately to prevent further issues.
Surface Condition: We inspect the surface materials to make sure they remain intact and functioning properly. This includes checking for cracks, tears, or punctures that could lead to leaks or damage.
Drainage Systems: Proper drainage is essential for the longevity of any roof. We check your roof’s drainage system to make sure it is clear and functioning correctly, preventing water from pooling and causing damage.
Our Waterproofing Solutions
Our waterproofing services include the installation of specialized membranes and coatings that create a barrier against moisture, so your roof remains leak-free and durable. No matter if you’re looking to waterproof a new roof or upgrade an existing system, we provide options tailored to your specific needs.
