What is Small Business Saturday?
It’s an annual shopping tradition dedicated to supporting small businesses and celebrating communities across the country. Founded by American Express in 2010, Small Business Saturday is celebrated every year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This year, you can get out and support the places you love with the people you love on November 28, 2026.
What is the Fallon Chamber doing to help this event?
The Fallon Chamber of Commerce has partnered with CEDA to help local businesses promote themselves during one of the busiest shopping weekends of the year. Here are some of the fun events we are doing throughout the day.
The Welcome Booth
At the Welcome Booth, we will have information about all of the different Chamber businesses participating in Small Business Saturday. We will also have all the rules and game pieces for the Business Bingo and the CEDA #GurkaInBusiness Photo Contest.
We will be located at the “Old Post Office” 90 N. Maine St. with many homebased businesses/vendors to start your shopping day with. Come get your coffee and game pieces to play the games set up around town. As you do your shopping for Christmas, don’t forget our wonderful local businesses. The Small Business Saturday – Fallon Facebook Event hosted by the Fallon Chamber
The Chamber is hosting an online event to help promote all the sales happening on that Saturday. Businesses that have signed up to participate in Small Business Saturday through the Chamber, will be allowed to post once a week in the event leading up to November 28. On November 28th, the Chamber will be running the event online and promoting flash sales throughout the day for Chamber members only that have signed up and sent in their information on time.
The Business Bingo – Sponsored by the Fallon Chamber
Businesses will have the opportunity to bring customers into their stores through this fun and engaging game. There are only two requirements. Your business must be a member of the Fallon Chamber, and you must contribute something to the prize basket. Each bingo card will have businesses in the squares where you will have to go visit and shop small. Last Year we had 50 businesses participate, Customers names will be entered into a drawing for every bingo card they complete.

Here is another fantastic opportunity to get customers through your doors. After you sign-up for this city-wide, “Where is Waldo” style Gurka hunt, we will send you a picture of the Greenwave Gurka. Place him in your store, maybe showcasing your sale item. Your store will be placed on the lookout list, and customers will come looking. Once they find him, they will take a picture, post it online using the hashtag #GurkaInBusiness, and they will check in at your store. For each picture a customer takes at a different store, their name will be entered into a drawing.

CEDA is sponsoring a Shop Small Saturday “Golden Ticket” giveaway! One Golden Ticket will be tucked into one of the 200+ Shop Small bags handed out at the Welcome Booth at the City of Fallon Old Post Office.
