The Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows (BGCTM) is a nonprofit youth-development organization dedicated to helping young people reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible members of their communities. Founded in 1976, BGCTM has grown from a single Club in Reno into a regional organization serving thousands of youth and families across Northern Nevada.
BGCTM provides safe, supportive, and engaging places for children and teens to learn, grow, build relationships, and develop skills outside of the traditional classroom. Programming is offered before and after school, during school breaks and throughout the summer, with opportunities designed to meet the different interests and needs of youth.
Programs are built around five core areas: Character & Leadership Development, Education & Career Development, Health & Life Skills, The Arts, and Sports, Fitness & Recreation. These programs provide youth with opportunities ranging from homework assistance and STEM activities to athletics, creative arts, leadership development, career preparation, healthy-living education, and teen programming.
The Club also serves as an important community resource for families, providing services such as nutritious meals, transportation, financial assistance, scholarships, and other support. BGCTM is committed to ensuring that financial circumstances do not prevent a young person from participating in the Club.
Today, BGCTM operates locations and school-based programs throughout Northern Nevada, including Reno, Sparks, Fernley, Lovelock, Ely, Winnemucca, Tonopah and other rural communities. Its growth reflects a commitment to bringing high-quality youth-development opportunities to both urban and rural communities while adapting programs to the unique needs of each community.
At its core, the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows is more than an after-school program. It is a place where young people can find safety, belonging, caring adults, opportunity, and the tools they need to build great futures
