Visit of the Mexican Reliquary of the Cristero Martyrs

THERE is a very Special Day coming up for our St Patrick’s Parish Community…….On April 25th,26th 2026, the Knights of Columbus and St. Patrick’s will host a visit by the Mexican Reliquary from “The Sanctuary of the Martyrs of Christ the King”, located atop Guadalajara’s Cerro del Tesoro (“Treasure Hill”). It is a significant monument honoring individuals who lost their lives during the 1920s persecution of Catholics, including punitive action in the Cristero Wars led by the Mexican government.

This site is distinguished as the first to permanently house relics from both canonized and beatified Mexican martyrs. Among these are nine Knights of Columbus, including six priest-martyrs whose feasts are observed on upcoming May 21. Construction of this shrine commenced in 2007 and, although ongoing, it has already established itself as an important pilgrimage destination for the Knights and other Catholic faithful in Mexico.

This traveling Reliquary Cross containing the relics of these six saints and will be present at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on Saturday April 25th and Sunday 26th during all Masses.
