From the late 19th Century the Spanish Dollar coin became Woldwide currency owing to it’s quality and uniformity. The coins were struck in fine silver and were often divided into 2, 4 and 8 pieces so that they could be used as smaller units of currency and change. The coins were also known as ‘Pieces of 8’

In rural areas of America the divided coins were necessary for economic efficiency, trade and bartering. This efficiency enabled the smaller communities to gain economic strength and eventually their pieces became whole coins.

When communities trade to their advantage, they prosper.

The number 8 is the symbol for infinity, which represents the cycle of this trade and continual prosperity.

Infinite pieces, infinite possibilities.
